Our Privacy Principles
We are guided by the following principles:
1. Data Stays on Your Device: App usage data and blocking configurations remain on your device. We use iOS Screen Time APIs and Android Digital Wellbeing APIs to block apps locally. This data is not transmitted to our servers.
2. Minimize Data Collection: We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve our service. We are committed to transparent data collection and seek to minimize what we collect.
3. Prioritize Privacy: Privacy is a core consideration in our product decisions. When evaluating features, we consider the privacy impact alongside functionality improvements.
4. No Sale of Personal Data: We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Information We Collect
1. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers:
- App blocking selections: Which apps you choose to block
- Focus session data: Your focus session times, durations, and break periods
- Onboarding responses: Your age, estimated screen time, habits, and preferences
- App preferences: Your app settings and configurations
- Selection data: iOS Screen Time API app selection data (encoded binary format)
This local data is stored using:
- iOS Shared Preferences
- Local SQLite database (Drift)
- iOS Screen Time API storage
2. Analytics Data (Non-Personal)
We collect limited usage analytics to improve the App. This data is not linked to you personally and includes:

3. Subscription and Payment Data
When you purchase a premium subscription, the following data is collected:
- RevenueCat Customer ID: An anonymous identifier for subscription management
- Subscription status: Whether you have an active subscription and which entitlements you have access to
- Transaction data: Managed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store (we do not have access to your credit card information)
Important: Your payment information (credit card, billing address, etc.) is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We do not see or store this information.
4. Data We Do NOT Collect
The following data is not collected:
- Your actual app usage data: We don’t know which apps you use or for how long
- Screen time statistics: All screen time data stays on your device
- Communication content: We don’t access your messages, emails, or calls
- Contacts or photos: We don’t access your contacts, photos, or other media
- Location data: We don’t track where you are
- Browsing history: We don’t know which websites you visit
- Personal documents: We don’t access files or documents on your device
How We Use Your Information
We use the limited data we collect for the following purposes:
Local Data (Stored on Your Device)
- Provide app blocking functionality
- Track your focus sessions and progress
- Personalize your experience based on your preferences
- Restore your settings after app reinstallation
Analytics Data
- Understand how users interact with the App

- Limited tracking: We don’t use advertising tracking or identifiers
Subscriptions

Children’s Privacy
Focus Block is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will delete such information.
International Data Transfers
Focus Block is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information we collect may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
For European users, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for data transfers outside the EEA, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
Data Retention
We retain data as follows:
- Local device data: Retained until you delete the App or clear app data
- Analytics data: Retained for up to 14 months in Firebase Analytics
- Subscription data: Retained while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period after cancellation for refund and support purposes
- Crash reports: Retained for up to 90 days
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy
- Notify you through the App or via email
- Request your consent if required by law
Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Focus Block mobile app does not use cookies. However, our third-party service providers (Firebase, RevenueCat) may use tracking technologies as described in their privacy policies.
Do Not Track
Our App does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals because there is no uniform industry standard for DNT signal interpretation. We commit to minimal data collection regardless of DNT settings.
